The Gris-Gris is made of ingredients, such as herbs, grains, gem stones, shells and other various objects that are chosen for their colors, magickal and astrological correspondences and properties to add to the powerful energies of the purpose of each Gris-Gris. The number of ingredients chosen is always an odd number and never more than thirteen. The Gris-Gris is then ritually made at an altar containing the four elements of Air, Fire, Water and Earth.
